For the first time, EVER!! I animated a scene
I took the files from the drop box that
Ross Mudd had modelled, and 'grabbed' a scene.
I decided on the rock climbing scene as I felt it
would be the most challenging to animate
especially for myself as i have had no previous experience.
FULL STOP
I started with the Human Figure
it was very hard to begin with working out how
to set a key frame. i decided to use auto key as
it sets up the animation quicker more simplistically.
I found it hard moving the body as Ross had rigged
a bone structure under the skin. but as I found out
how to move my 'selection' between these bones,
it progressed with relative ease. It was a lot easier
having each bone work as its own 'Layer'
like in photoshop, so when it was selected it was
the only thing visible on the time line.
I found this to be helpful beyond belief.

The cameras were a little tricky,
first I was using a line camera but
I found that a free cam was much
more pliable and I could achieve the angles
I envisaged when i constructed the story board.
With the animation and cameras set i found the
rendering to be a long and laborious process.
and every mistake i found meant repeating the
process, and after all of that watching the render
took forever due to massive file sizes.
despite these set backs i found it
rather fun and i learnt a lot about the application
and how i can utilise it further in my future projects.
